After work, I joined my family over at the Singapore Flyer. We went onboard on the Singapore Flight at 6pm. The ride ended at around 6.30pm. Overall, the ride was ok. when our capsule was gg up.. we were so excited.. den it reached the peak... and down it came. the immediate thot i have was... oh no.. there goes my $29.50.. haha.. but den again, as a Singaporean, how can we not take our Singapore flyer.. Will go onboard the Singapore flight again when our intergrated resort is ready!
Anw, life is like the Ferris wheel that all of us are on.. Sometimes you are up high and sometimes you are down low. When we are at the bottom, we take the comfort in knowing that things will be better as the wheel will sooner or later turn up. When we are at the peak, we should not get too comfortable coz we may fall down at any time.. I thank my family and friends who are always there for me when i am down low.. and i am glad to share my joys ands happiness with them when I am the the top. thanks for riding wif me... hee...

Gonna 3 mths old...
Well, I have joined Mindef for about 2 mths plus.. Many asked me hows the job here? My auntie even asked me if working is shuang or not! (roll eyes) haha..
I would say, though tiring but still so far so good.. i m no longer so lost.. no longer foreign to everything.. no longer alien to all the acroynms (at least its accumulated in my "dictionary" daily--> welcome to the world of Mindef wif lotsa lotsa abbreviations and acroynms) .. its a good learning experience for me.. i am learning sth new everyday.. Sometimes its like war.. where i got so many things to rush and haf no time to stand and stare... no time for lunch oso... pretty stressful at times.. but sometimes its quite boring... Attended a handful of meetings already.. gonna attend one tmr (which is a reasonably big one.. and following tt in late nov and early dec.. i need to attend 2 real big one..)... Sometimes attending meetings can be good... though some of the time i get lost along the way.. its a good way for me to pick up new things, understand more things.. Within this 2 mths plus, we had our Family day, pride day, retreat, gombak charity carnival. Last but not least, i oso attended the EFP... kinda fruitful ya!! think i am kinda lucky.. coz all these events are around the last quarter.. the period where i joined..
i hope everything is gg well... so tts working life! haha..
oh yes.. i almost forgot to mention!!! U know wat.. i am really sick of the food here already!! how? i seriously dunno how they can survive here for 10 over yrs... maybe i am juz too picky.. but 民以食为天 ma.. so sianz whenever i go to the canteen... sooner or later, wat boss says will happen.. " u juz head towards the stall wif no queue or the least queue for food"... and i quote from dave.. “they juz eat for the sake of eating.. to fill their stomach" haha.. DTTB's food is so much nicer lor... canteen still got air con.. and no need to clear plates... okie dun grumble.. 人比人气死人! haha.. i dine out like thrice, once to bukit panjang plaza, another to railway mall and the last to ten miles mall.. find a day.. i wanna try out camp food.. hee...

G1 retreat + pride day
Met maj david for breakfast at saltwater-- Le meridien's hotel (changi)... the buffet breakfast there was so so onli.. Its my very first time having breakfast in Sg's hotel.. wahaha.. When i am overseas.. "enjoying" the breakfast at their hotel.. i always wondered wat would be served in our hotel (fantasizing all the yummy yummy foodie).. it turned out to be quite disappointing, considering its a 4 star hotel.. I feel the spread was pretty little.. wif bee hoon (which david says it isnt nice at all), hashbrowns, saugages (those cheapo kind), grilled fish (which is too saltish), and the standard bread and omelette stall... tts all...
Rushed to changi haven coz we are supposed to haf a retreat over there... my first time attending a retreat.. a mini one i would say..haha.. (Anw, i will haf a feel of a real retreat in Jan).. Following that, we went to changi v for lunch.. jan nee and darren joined us for desert.. I tried the chicken cutlet ipoh hor fun.. was quite nice but the weather was too freaking hot.. it was so unbearable tt i couldnt swallow anything except the icy cold sugar cane drink..
Had our pride day at 2pm.. Joyce, Poh hong and Adrian finally arrived.. can u imagine.. they took bus 67 from office to tamp interchange.. their whole journey to changi haven was easily a 2.5 hrs!!!! Anw, as cpt yong meng from AOMC jio me, i took part in the treasure hunt.. we combed the whole stretch of changi.. under the hot scorching sun!! oh man.. the scope was really too big!! right from changi v to the yatch club.. maddness... anw.. we managed to find our pots of treasures after walking (followed by dragging my feet) to and fro.. wahaha... we got second.. wif a pathetic 5 bucks popular voucher each.. for our wits project, R&A got second too.. hee... first was none other than CPC.. congrats to karin's dept..
Had bbq and happy hr after tt.. overall.. i had lots of fun.. met karin, karen and steffaine.. oso met some of the CO's PA in person.. alwats laise wif them but dunno how they look.. haha.. Once again.. i look like a lobster.. sigh..
oh btw.. seaview chalet is nice.. after the renovation, its real new and nice.. can consider booking it.. think there shld be 2 rooms at the second floor... while the cleaners are doing their rounds.. we juz peeped at the living room.. not very very spacious but not too cramp either.. can easily house around 20 pax? (abit smaller than NSRCC's living room but definitely bigger than many of the chalets.. There are 2 air cons and guess wat.. they haf plasma tv lor and a majong table.. haha..
On the whole, this event was great.. getaway from work and a know more pple session.. another plus pt.. its so near my hse!! hehe.. but my br pple.. Joyce, Poh hong, Dave and Adrian had a "hard time" gg back..

EFP
Attended the 6 days EFP at DTTB.. i would say this cse was more of a networking session.. haha.. to build guan xi.. which is relatively impt in order to get work done smoothly.. coz i somewhat already know the stuff they teach le lor.. those on mindef and saf structure.. apart from this.. we had a NE trail to font canning's battlebox.. changi chapel (which is so near my hse).. oso had a finance, couselling talk.. teambuilding session.. professional image talk etc.. well.. the world is really small.. i met fiona.. my yr 1 social psych project mate during the EFP.. haha.. and a mth ago, when i attended my advanced OO cse, I met tze shan's friend.. julianna.. she is working at singapore tech building.. so qiao!
Trip to kusu island
Made a trip to kusu island with maternal relatives and cousins.. was supposed to meet at harbourfront.. to take a boat there.. somehow the webbie wasnt updated.. there arent any boats to kusu island... headed towards marina south pier.. horrendous sia.. the queue was like.. omg!! I seriously din expect to see thousands of pple there queuing... the queuing took a good 2 hrs! well done.
We set off at 815.. reached there onli at 12 noon... took a small slow boat there.. luv the beach/sea over there... prayed at the temples and had lunch at the food center... we had our appetizers over there.. Fried kway teow which tasted so so.. laksa which is abit spoiled(turn sour?).. hao jian wif 10x more flour than eggs and i heard the oyster was very raw.. made kc gor and yh get "high"!! haha.. chicken wings were e best! next up is the icy coke! so shuang..
I did make a wish and threw a coin into the wishing pond.. my coin strike the bell sia!! hehe.. so my wish gonna come true le hor? i hope so.. haha lets see.. anticipating...

Hmm... haven been blogging recently... coz work is really brain draining! I am damn tired and shag everyday.. nv felt so exhausted b4... guess i haven adapt to this working hrs.. probably coz I luv Euro hrs so much.. wahaha.. now i am changing for the better.. will jump onto my lovely bed at latest 1115 (i broke my own record sia).. kinda "despise" myself though.. but my eyelids are seriously so heavy to the extent that a toothpick wont be able to withstand.. hehe.. and actually i will be real tired at around 9 plus.. but life will be boring if i sleep so early ya.. imagine this --> after work and dinner.. u sleep.. next day go office again.. tts so no life man.. haha

G1 Army 32th anniversary cum family day
This event was held in Safra Yishun. Its my first time meeting manny of my fellow G1 army colleagues... Our dept is a huge one lor.. wif a strength of 380 plus peeps (pple from our side and depot side).. and they were saying.. previously G1 army was much bigger wor...
I met the ladies for Mac breakfast early in the morning.. After which, we took 812 to Safra but we had a tour round Yishun estate.. A 5 mins bus ride from Yishun interchange turned out to be a 25 mins ride... coz its a loop and we took the wrong direction.. blur.. haha..
Only so few peeps from my branch went... my shifu was away for a course.. major hanyong last min gana arrow (go back office for meeting)...
We walked around.. and saw this guy who were about to do his parachute jump.. so we decided to wait and watched him jump.. oh man... i think he freaked out lor.. we waited for more than half an hr.. until my neck is so suan liao.. den there is oso a bunch of small kids (3yrs old i guess) who walked past.. and shouted.. "jump jump jump.." they are so lovely.. arent they.. and the guy still glued himself at the platform... we gave up after tt... dun think he did the jump ba.. haha..
Later, i followed them to the fruits machine "cafe".. haha.. think we spent most of the time there lor.. wahaha.. 2 guys over there seem to be a full time jackpot player lor.. won baskets and baskets of coins back home (strike jackpot for nth times lor).. Btw, i am the only one who din play!! haha
Oh ya.. watched boss rock climb from far.. haha... and Mathew got his genes lor.. 5 yrs old kid is so adventurous.. he tried rock climbling.. clap clap... haha.. trained from young sia.. Saw a few ladies did the parachute jump.. so fun.. haha..

New phrase of my life
I haf delayed this entry for like 2 weeks already.. haha.. I officially bidded goodbye to my student-hood and is now proceeding to the next phrase of my life.. ~drum roll~!!! haha.. the ADULTHOOD aka WORKING HOOD??? Welcome to the reality...
I MIA~ed for quite some time le.. coz i am real tired and exhausted... I nv felt like tt b4... i dunno why.. I haf not been sleeping well for the past 2 weeks.. though mentally and physically tired but somehow i keep waking up many times during the night.. sigh.. Am I overwhelmed? or overly stressed? haha..
Well, my job is tough i would say... having a non miltary/NS background... mindef has way too many abbreviations and acroynms tt i am unfamilar wif.. Chim org structure and processes tt i am unclear wif.. etc etc but tell me if there's any job tt is easy??? haha.. I take tt as a learning process.. (i shall learn as i do). Given some time.. i would be able to speak like them (tts my goal).. YAY!! At least I am starting to see the ball coming.. and after hearing and reading alot, i no longer felt so lost as a week ago.. I will get there!!! " The secret of happiness is not in doing wat one likes, but in liking wat one does." I think this is absolutely true!!! And when the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
My boss is a nice and understanding person.. he is very smart too (based on my observations)!! my colleagues were great too!!! They were very helpful and nice to me!! hehe.. tts a super plus pt coz a good working environment really makes a diff!!!
Alright.. on the fifth day of work.. boss treated us lunch!! We had subway for lunch and a small cake... tts to celebrate the august "babies" (me included, plus 4 other colleagues --> so many leos ya!! haha) and to welcome me!! hehe.. had a nice chat wif everybody.. we tok about everything under the world.. from boss's daughter incident to sports to food to work related stuff... haha..

Its my birthday!!!
One yr has past!!! Time really flies and I am now 22!!! haha.. Hmm... seems like I juz celebrated my grand 21st bdae few days ago.. Everything tt happened tt day was still so vivid to me... Checked in to NSRCC at around 3 wif dad n kaicheng gor.. dad went back after tt... kc gor and I lax around den be chauffeur... picked up hao first at TP, den went to kc's hse to pick yinghui, peishan sis and uncle.. den picked amanda and head straight to my chalet... We ordered KFC for dinner and had a surprise bdae party for amanda when the clock strike 12... After which we torn for the whole nite... and I am the only one who din sleep at all.. haha.. The first thing when i came down... I saw a big poster of me wif my face on it... It was my large banner.. a gift from my lovely cousins!!! tt was the first surprise.. following tt, the second surprise was my video.. i am so so touched!!! it showed my growing up photos.. some of which made me abit paiseh.. haha.. the guestbook arent surprise coz i somehow knew it b4hand.. tt was an unforgettable event...
Oh.. We went to Bukit Panjang plaza for lunch.. had cartel's set lunch.. was kinda dissapointing.. so far i think onli their pork ribs can make it.... Juehui bought me choc cake from Awfully choc... the 卖相 was really bad I tell u... and this gives its name.. haha.. daddy and mummy both said the same thing when they went to the shop the collect the cake... "Aiyo... if it were me.. when i see e shop and e cake.. i wont feel like buying le lor.." haha... W/o kaicheng gor's recommendations, I wont wan to try it either... BUT!!! it tasted nice!!! choc was thick and not too sweet.. 棒!!! haha..

Well done S'pore
** Drum roll ** Finally, after 48 years... we managed to get a silver medal!!! Well done Lee Jia Wei, Feng Tian Wei and Wang Jia Gu... Although they were abit nervous but they did their best and did us proud...
I watched this 2.5 hrs match till so 心惊胆战 lor!! haha.. Anw, i so feel like smacking the other party lor.. so 嚣张跋扈.. uncivilized!!! Shall not pen down my thots about them.. haha.. dun wanna spoil the mood..
The award presentation ceremony was so heart warming.. only the Singapore gals were hugged when they were presented their Silver medal.. its so nice to see the Singapore 5 stars flag flying!!! clap clap.. :)
Oh btw.. 总理“让球” 让国人专心观赛，全力支持!! This is the first time wor.. PM Lee actually "postpone" his national day speech (Eng) till tmr.. haha.. This shows the Singapore Spirit!! YEAH...

It has been long since i last watched a korean drama.. let me think.. it shld be 3 years since i bid goodbye to my korean dramas.. Recalling during my JC days where I am a super ultimate korean drama fan.. to the extent where I think my whole class called me korean drama queen... esp angeline, xt and christel.. (and this actually made xt's mum thot i am from korea...) haha.. and i am a person who can repeatedly watched the whole drama (of coz skipping the parts tt i dun like) more than thrice and i wont be sicked of it.. call me crazy or wat.. haha.. and usually after the show... my " 失落感" and "无助感" will appear..
After the 3 yrs, I began to switch to tvb series... probably coz 1) I watched too many korean drama liao.. 2) the recent (3yrs ago i mean) ranked excellent and most pop shows seem kinda stupid and so not nice to me.. (to think a tv addict will say tt!! haha) actors not shuai.. plot kinda stupid.. 3) i had completed a whole and wide range of korean dramas.. be it modern or gu zhuang shows ranging.. therefore kinda sianz liao.. haha..
Den i became a tvb fan!! and i am still one now.. wahaha... superb!!! Over these 3 yrs.. i have watched many great productions!! Marvellous... haha.. watching moonlight resonance and when dog loves cat now... (waiting for hk tvb channel to air it daily so tt someone will post it online.. hee)
3 yrs later.. yest.. i juz finished watching one korean drama entitled 1% possibility in 1 and a half day.. wahaha... once again.. my 失落感 resurfaced..
BUT from mon onwards.. i doubt i will haf time watching tvb series and immersing in the storyline liao.. haha.. unless during weekends? coz i am a person who will need to finish the whole show asap de.. otherwise i wont be able to concentrate on the work i am doing.. and will keep day dreaming about the plots.. and I need a week to heal my 失落感.. wahaha.. luckily i got self discipline.. haha.. i forbid myself from watching the many shows tt i yearned to during sch days. coz once start, i cant stop.. but if i nv start, den i wont 追...

(to think a tv addict will say tt!! haha) actors not shuai.. plot kinda stupid.. 3) i had completed a whole and wide range of korean dramas.. be it modern or gu zhuang shows ranging.. therefore kinda sianz liao.. haha..
Den i became a tvb fan!! and i am still one now.. wahaha... superb!!! Over these 3 yrs.. i have watched many great productions!! Marvellous... haha.. watching moonlight resonance and when dog loves cat now... (waiting for hk tvb channel to air it daily so tt someone will post it online.. hee)
3 yrs later.. yest.. i juz finished watching one korean drama entitled 1% possibility in 1 and a half day.. wahaha... once again.. my 失落感 resurfaced..
BUT from mon onwards.. i doubt i will haf time watching tvb series and immersing in the storyline liao.. haha.. unless during weekends? coz i am a person who will need to finish the whole show asap de.. otherwise i wont be able to concentrate on the work i am doing.. and will keep day dreaming about the plots.. and I need a week to heal my 失落感.. wahaha.. luckily i got self discipline.. haha.. i forbid myself from watching the many shows tt i yearned to during sch days. coz once start, i cant stop.. but if i nv start, den i wont 追...

Pre Bdae treat...
Daddy treated us to Grand Hyatt hotel's Straits Kitchen for a quite ex buffet lunch.. advance celebration for my 22nd birthday.. hehe.. (and coincidentally.. today is my lunar's bdae).. They served a wide variety of food.. from the local chinese delicacies like popiah, black pepper prawns, carrot cake, duck, laksa, prawn mee etc to indian food like prata, curry, tandorri chicken etc and malay food like satay, sambal stingray, otah etc to many snacks and deserts like muah chi, onah onah, rojak, many noya kuehs , long xu tang and ice cream etc etc.. too many to list them all out.. haha.. it is one of the most spacious wif the most variety of food tt i haf seen so far.. (for buffet wise).. BUT i muz admit tt i din eat alot today!! haha... but I definetely ate more than usual.. haha.. I would rate it 7/10.. haha.. The place is cosy and nicely decorated BUT it was too crowded and noisy le.. wif many pple wearing tees.. (2 less popcorns for tt).. haha.. coz i would prefer a quiet, cosy and nice ambience place wif great food of course.. haha..
Oh btw.. yeah!!! After 48 years, Singapore's table tennis team managed to beat their way into the finals... we are gg to get an Olympics medal.. be it Gold or silver.. Congrats!!! Tmr is the defining round... jia you Singapore..

Finally, I got the call tt i haf been waiting for!!! A sigh of relief!!! haha.. I haf sucessfully crossed all the hurdles.. wahaha.. 苦尽甘来! cheers.. and at least for now.. i can say tt i din regret rejecting the other offer!!! haha..

Studio shoots
Went to Portrait gallery @ river valley rd to take my graduation photo wif family and grandma.. brought my props along of coz.. haha.. erm.. we haf been to many studios to look see look see.. decided on Portrait Gallery coz we think this looks good!!! though its ex compared to the other studio.. as in coz we like their backdrop.. the poses and this studio's professional photographer won many awards wor.. the photographer is very funny de.. he attempted to make my granny smile but in e end when my granny smile.. his actions made me, mummy and xiaomei really SMILE or I shld say laugh so so bubbly.. wahaha.. took individual shoots, family shoots and another family shoots wif granny.. daddy wore academic dress too.. haha.. Overall, i think Portrait gallery is not bad.. as least for now.. (haven seen the photos and all yet mah).. haha.。
Den we went to Paragon's ding tai feng for late lunch.. juz wanna say tt their new specialty chilly crab xiao long bao is so not nice lor!!! haha

08/08/2008: Beijing Olympics 2008 officially starts!!! The opening was grand.. (directed by zhang yi mou).. oh btw.. since many ang mo will fly to beijing to view this spectacular moment and the subsequent sports event.. many of the china restaurants decided to make a translation for their menu.. guess wat??? 童子鸡 was actually translated as chicken without sexual life!!! oh man.. hilarious sia.. and they made many more jokes... haha

一波未平，一波又起。。。
好烦啊！！今天是第五天了。。 等待真的是一种煎熬。。 我等到花儿也谢了。。这五天对我而言是非常漫长的五天。。 我都快疯了。。 等到脖子也长了。。我每过一会儿。。 都会不由自足的查看手机是否有missed calls.. 尤其是今天。。手机整天都与我形影不离。。因为我有一种很强烈的预感。。 觉得今天会有消息。。 但还是失望而空。。 到了 4。45pm，我忍无可忍了。。 播了通电话给他们。。 他们还没得知结果。。 小妹说。。no news means good news... 虽然我是赞同。。 但深陷这处境的我。。受不了这种“酷刑”。。 总是无法平静下来。。 心中除了担心还是担心。。忐忑不安。。七上八下。。 以致我这几天失眠了。。
人生不如意的事情十之八九。。 但我的人生为什么那么不一帆风顺？是我太过杞人忧天.. 顾虑太多了吗？还是我太执著， 太过于强求了呢？又或者这是我的性格。。 担心太多了， 再加上我是个完美主义者，对我自己的要求和期望特别高。。 除此之外，我也是一个很在我形象的人。。 很在乎别人的眼光。。 另外， 生性易担心的我。。 每当碰到事情的时侯，我都会担心害怕好一阵子。。这一切的一切。。 把握压得快喘不过气来了。。 有时候还真羡慕那些能一笑置之，闭上双眼，呼呼大睡， 把天塌下来当被盖的人。他们总是能那么无忧无虑。。 没有烦恼。。有时候我也尝试想这样“放任”自己，但我总是不能把烦恼抛到九霄云外。我会不由自足地想起。。好不容易在众多人当中过了那么多关，希望不要在是最后的一刻让我失望！我是否能脱颖而出呢？答案就在下个礼拜揭晓。。 我好期待。。。
这短短的几个月。。 对我来说简直是度日如年。。 每天活在担心紧张中。。 寄了超多比例表出去，但没人打来。每天翻开报纸，察看网站。。看看那些工作我有兴趣。。 慢慢地，我开始彷徨了，不知道还有什么是我有兴趣的。。也慢慢地没看到我心仪的工作。。没人打来时，我很心烦。。 每当电话响起时， 我也害怕紧张了。。 因为我最怕的面试要到来了。。 就这样。。 到了七月。。 运气变好了。。去了一个公司的第二次面试。。 几天后就被入取了。而这时，又有另外一份我心心念念的工作“接受”我。。 但他们还需要我去身体检查和 security test 后才能接受我。。 天啊！ 这是多么难决定的事。。。反复思考后，决定要接受后者。。考虑的因素有很多，就不在这详谈了。打给他们 reject 时，我是多么地不好意识。。 他们的 HR manager 还亲自打给我，要我再考虑。。我就是一个这样的人，往往什么事都想要面面俱到。。但现实生活中，哪会有面面俱到的场面的。。决择再难，还是要选择。。and it always involves opportunity cost.. 我唯有希望一切完美！一切顺顺利利就好！

Super pissed
Today, i did something very stupid.. i am too honest to the extend tt i feel like slapping myself. Is honesty the best policy?? Juz give me a knife.. Hope everything will still run smoothly otherwise i will really go and bang onto the wall sia!!!! sigh sigh and sighs!!!!! I muz be mad.. super pissed off wif myself.. dun wish to talk about it anymore!!! faints.. praying real hard now.. The waiting process is tortorous and tedious...
Went to Chinatown's ten dollar club Ktv wif xiuting and angeline.. damn cheap sia... compared to kbox.. we sang from 2 to 7.. and its around 12 bucks onli.. wif 2 tibits.. 1 bowl of sharkfin and free flow of drinks lor.. kbox de super ex lor... so not worth!! Shall go to the chinatown one next time.. hee..

Cousins first kbox outing
Had dinner at the Kopitiam beside hougang plaza.. The lunch was bad!!! saltish and not nice at all... sigh sigh.. After tt, we went to hougang plaza's kbox from 2 to 7pm.. gathering cum celebrating amanda's bdae.. Was fun and enjoyable.. and there's one moment where we were quite high!!! stand up to sing the high pitch ah mei's ting hai twice!!! din check if the glass did shatter... wahaha.. snap afew pics (shall post it up when amanda sent it to me), sang bdae song and cut the choc mint cake (cake was so so) at around 5.. left at around 7.15pm.. Met yinghui and we headed towards Bliss cafe (beside Punggol Park) for dinner.. Ambience was not bad.. food serving was slow though.. Food was not bad.. esp Gritton chicken and the boneless chicken chop.. those 2 were quite nice!! I had bacon pasta in spicy aligo olio sauce.. so so onli.. As usual, we shared our foodie.. hehe.. left the place at around 9.40pm.. tt marks the end of our outing.. haha.. So fun!!! hope to meet them up more often.... grins..

Random...
My blog went into coma for few weeks le.. Oops.. haf been very vexed over jobs stuff. Shall blog about it once everything is settled.. Life is full of choices.. and every choices we made.. there will be an opportunity cost!! haha..
Well.. the process to getting paid do incur huge costs sia.. First.. b4 interviews.. gotta buy formal clothes... den during the interviews and many rounds of procedures to be cleared.. gotta incur transport cost!!! so ex lor.. den when u were accepted.. gotta buy office wear blouse, pants etc etc.. heels.. handbags?? wahaha..
Went out wif xiuting today.. we went hunting for clothes.. haha.. managed to buy some stuff back.. But i need more tops/blouses!!! haha.. As usual, we got no stamina again.. after few hrs of walk (unlike in tw where we can chiong whole day.. to n fro).. Walking for hrs with covered toes heels is terrible sia.. haha.. leg sore like mad..
Oh btw.. I went to the Singapore Garden Festival @ suntec on sun.. the flowers were real beautiful!!! I luv the landscaping section at the 6th storey!!!
