Commencement 2008 (continue)

Alright.. tts all for the pics i took during my commencement at UCC... Sorrie i din take photo wif Iris, Yiting and gayl.. (tt day too crowded liao.. make me dizzy.. haha).. next time ya.. shall meet u guys outside to take photos ok.. oh not forgeting angeline, kala and huiwen (huiwen.. thanx for the flowers.. so sweet of u.. haha) whom will be graduating next yr..

Next, i got to thank a bunch of my close friends.. xiuting esp.. my gossiping partner... rmb the days at the airport from early morning to late nites mugging... rmb how sick and tired Bk food was to us..rmb the many incidents tt happen in the airport.. (one of which is ur irritating guy friend... haha.. another was i gana scolded for being unfriendly coz i chope seats for u and u so late den turn up.. and there was once... sat if i m not wrong when we both were late.. no seats for us.. gotta go home to study... and the few days tt angeline turned up... and the usual food tt she will order even b4 studying --> ice cream? cheessticks? beancurd? polo cakes? and her fav hershey pies... wahaha... etc etc) rmb the days we are mugging at the CC's study room.. and the roof tt we so love.. gotta thank these 2 great friends of mine.. not forgetting some of my uni friends... and Emily, yuemei (my sec sch friends).. plus my lao peng you pei yee(pri sch friend)... they were my best pals... All of them stood by me.. encouraged and helped me when i needed them most..

Next up.. gotta thank my wonderful cousins too.. they are always so supportive, always there for me.. sharing my joys and my da ri zi (big day) wif me!!! guys... I wont forget the next gathering will be my treat!!! haha..

Commencement 2008

Woo hoo~~... I have offically graduated from NUS!!! (like finally.. phew!!) haha.. was kinda busy today.. reached sch at around 9.. got everything ready by 930.. yiyi bought me a nice cute nus lion bear bear... (thanks yiyi!!) hehe.. snap a few shots with the big nus bear den we had to move in to the auditorium liao.. got to be seated by 940.. den the 2 pple sitting to my left and right.. asked me this:" u are gwendolin rite??" i was like ya.. i m.. how do noe?? den they said:" oh coz u always sit in between of us during exams when u took the same econs module as us... haha.. so qiao.. haha..

During the ceremony... sang our national anthem.. followed by a speech by a first class hons graduand (her speech was interesting.. she mentioned tt... when pple around u gives u their support.. one can den go on to pursue one's dreams.. coz she was saying she thinks she is a bad mum.. coz it has been long since she tuck her kid to bed.. and din realise her kid grew tt tall liao.. she was lucky to haf a supportive husband and a sensible son.. w/o their support.. she wont haf her achivements today)... den e event began.. by having the graduates (class of 2008) to go on stage.. to haf a hand shake wif the pro-chancellor.. and get our degree scrolls..

Clapping and clapping and clapping... haha.. finally it was my turn.. oh gosh.. i m very nervous.. i haf been thinking of this scenerio for the past few weeks.. wat if i fell? wat if my hat dropped when i am halfway thru? wat if my gown's hook dropped off... haha.. alot of wat if.. thousands of eyes staring at me.. it will be damn embarassing if any of tt happen.. haha... ok back to the stage.. it seemed small.. but when my name was called.. the road to the pro-chancellor seemed very very long... i walked and walked.. wif my super high heels.. (enduring the pain).. nv ending road... i dun seem to reach the other end.. i dunno wat got into me.. dunno why am i so nervous.. haha.. but i really was!!! finally i reached.. shake hands wif him and walked down to collect my actual degree scroll... haha.. and everything went smoothly.. luckily all my "wat if" din happen.. wahaha..

B4 the end of the ceremony.. there was a loud bang and many balloons of diff colors flew down... beautiful!!! haha.. had a light refreshment.. den began my photographing again.. haha.. UCC was super duper packed... and it was hard to gather a group of friends for phototaking oso.. coz i got diff group of friends... sometimes i really wonder wat will happen if i were to stay in hall during my sch days.. coz naturally.. u will noe a bigger group of friends (tt noe each other in one way or another).. haha... but den again.. they might be juz hi bye friends.. in uni.. i muz admit tt its hard to make friends... esp true friends... i m glad i found a few really good and true friends.. recalling back.. when i was accepted by ntu... i did apply for a hostel room... to be shared by Emily... we manage to get a room... budden in the end.. i decided to go for NUS instead of NTU.. Emily decided not to stay in the hostel oso... But when i come to nus.. i din pply for the hostel.. reason being... staying in hostel means after lessons.. i will still be in sch compound.. dun like this kinda feeling.. haha.. although my travelling hrs are long... 4hrs a day (to and fro)... but i am glad to be able catch 95 to the interchange... as this means i am leaving the sch compound... back to my lovely home (home sweet home).. haha... at least i can leave the "horrible stressful" sch everyday.. haha.. and if i were to stay in the hall and go back home once a week.. i will definitely miss my parents and my beloved sis.. haha.. she is a good listener ok.. hehe.. we dun haf any secrets de wor.. ok wait.. why am i saying all this?? haha... Shall post the photos i took today.. kaicheng gor is waiting liao.. haha...

Pre- grad day... (photo shoots!!!)

Woke up early in the morning, fetch kaicheng gor, my photographer, and we embarked our journey as a "tourist" to Singapore.. haha.. First destination... We went to Parliment house (opp Padang).. took many shots.. individual and family.. Oh yes.. i forgot to mention.. IN MY ACADEMIC DRESS AND HAT.. wahaha.. and during my photo taking session, i seem to steal the limelight of the parliment hse as tourists on the hippo tour passed by us...

den we proceed to esplanade.. or rather Singapore river.. haha.. coz i did take few pics of the esplanade.. but din went in.. i took it from where the merlion is.. wanted to take a pic our half fish half lion national icon (THE MERLION!!) haha... but the 2 Merlions were under maintainance (cleaning if i m not wrong).. so sad.. nvm.. we gave tt a miss.. b4 leaving, We took a few pics of the fullerton hotel, which used to be IRAS (where daddy's office used to be at)..

After which, we went to NUS.. meeting yong and amanda cum family over there.. we reached there at 12 noon.. Wanted to haf megabites (@ the sci fac) for lunch... it wasnt open.. nvm.. went to engineering fac.. wanted to let them try the famous delicious Indonesia grilled chicken rice.. it wasnt open.. well.. none of the canteen were open???? omg.. this shows one thing ya.. i dun go back to sch on sun.. haha (thinking back.. indeed this is true.. i dun go back to sch in the weekends.. neither do i go back during the sch hols.. haha.. this shows how much i dreaded sch ya (prove yong n kc wrong.. i m not a bookworm aka book lover ok..).. had lunch at Mac in the end.. no choice sia.. waited for amanda and family for quite sometime.. den we went to my arts fac for phototaking... this includes econs dept.. the pavillion.. the study benches.. centra lib.. the nice garden in front of the co-op.. den we went to the university hall and ucc.. tt marks the end of my phototaking session.. haha.. very tiring but fruitful!!!! Special thanks to kaicheng gor.. Shall post his hard work next time when he sent it to me.. I am thankful to those who attended this phototaking session oso.. my family of coz.. mummy, daddy and sis... amanda, hazel, jon, yi yi and uncle... yong oso... not forgeting my photographer (kaicheng gor).. hehe.. without them, it wont be so lively and fun.. guys.. thanks for ur time.. luv ya loads...

We had an early dinner (5pm) at Blooies cafe.. recommended by gor... ambience was not bad.. would be better if we went there abit later and there's a live band over there.. wahaha.. On good thing.. as we are early.. we got the whole cafe to ourselves.. haha... I had fish n chips... was rather thin slice of fish.. haha.. i heard the burger is good (but i dunno how to eat beef).. tried abit of hawaiian pizza.. dory fish.. cajun chicken.. cheesy spag.. not forgetting the potato salad which tasted abit like the nuskin cleansing lotion.. (supposingly.. it was mayo... haha).... ended our day after dinner... tiring but fruitful.. hehe.. looking forward to seeing my photos... haha.. shall post it up here next time..

School days...

Went for an interview juz now.. the interview was okie.. coz it was qt a short one.. but the industrial relations essay test was qt horrible. I crapped my way thru.. hope it will turn out to be logical and sensible.. Anw, had a nice yet long walk at the Botanic Gardens. I realise our botanic garden is comparable to tw's kenting's national park.. I wonder if tourists will be brought there.. haha..

In sch now.. waiting for jh to fang xue.. gonna haf lunch wif her..

It has been sometime since i last step into NUS's compound.. I kinda miss NUS already.. haha.. I am being contradicting here.. as i recalled 3 yrs ago, when i first step into NUS.. i so wanted to quickly complete my 3 yrs course (graduate) and get out of here.. now.. i kinda miss this place.. my school.. my friends.. my nice cosy library.. my new renovated canteen... but one thing i will definetely not miss..... (drum roll).. my er xin thick econs books and readings!!!! wahaha...

These 3 yrs in Nus haf been quite bad for me. I heard many saying this.. once u manage to enter uni.. life will be easy.. I dun agree wif this at all!!!! I din get to enjoy the honey moon life in NUS.. in fact, other than yr1 sem1, I pia and mugged so hard everyday once the new sem starts. I slept for less than 5 hrs a day.. reached sch very early in the morning despite having lessons only in the noon or late morning.. the central lib 6th floor became my second home.. (and during exam periods.. changi airport T1's BK became my second home oso).. I studied till so hard.. yet my results were atrocious. Although my caps did improve a little each sem.. Its really damn hard to pull it up (high enough).. coz i really did badly for my yr 1 sem 1 as i couldnt adapt to this fast pace uni life... well.. in a glance time.. 3 yrs haf past.. time simply flies too fast... i am officially graduating soon.. next wed is the convo day!!

I am been pondering about this qn for sometime.. Pple usually says schooling and studying is the best.. u wont haf any troubles.. and ur job as a student is the easiest!!! how true is this??? at this very moment, i still dun agree wif this.. how can a student life be easy??? will i miss my mugging days? When will i tell someone tt sch life is indeed the time where u can haf all the fun and working life sux??? haha... My opinion now is: as a student(i am refering to uni student of course).. there are endless readings to read, endless books to revise... I can and will nv say I haf fiinished my revision for my exams.. simply coz after revising for the 3rd time.. there is always the 4th time... We have tons of projects to do, essays to write.. all cramped into tt pathetic mth of March or Oct.. we haf chim chim tutorials to do.. many presentations to prepare... etc etc.. sat and sun are always days for me to catch up wif the nv ending workload.. 24hrs a day minus the minimal sleep tt i had each day.. and the little time tt i rest.. e rest belongs to studying coz its my job as a student... Is this kinda life happening??? Is this kinda life interesting?? i think its kind of meaningless.. boring and pathetic.. yeah tts e word.. coz I am not an intelligent person.. its the hard work and the amt of effort i put in.. tt makes me able to get into uni... okkok.. somehow i dunno why i start to whim.. haha...

Well, as a working adult (preferably in the govt sector), working hrs are 8am to 5.30pm.. after work.. I can temporarily forget all my troubles at work and leave it till tmr morning.... I can dine wif frienz.. go for shopping spree, watch my fav shows and do all kinda things i enjoy... At work, although there will be office politics.. and i will definetely get stressed out by the heavy workload.. gana hunt by boss.. but I am being paid!!! hopefully highly paid.. haha..

Ok nvm... i will be able to ans my qn when i start work... lets see will my confirm and definite ans (for now) change.. whaha.. (will i den say tt student life is the most xing nang --> relax)...
